About the Project
Finding Fribourg
The goal was to create a new logo for a travel destination. Fribourg, Switzerland also known as the oldest medieval town in the country has many cultural aspects to choose from when designing a logo.
Research and Sketching
How does one capture Fribourg in a singular emblem? From the gothic architecture with art nouveau stained glass windows to the rich history of the city founder, it was a fun challenge to incorporate a little bit of everything.

Option 1: Nouveau
The Fribourg cathedral is an important part of the cities religious background. This design incorporates the gothic architectural design as well as the art nouveau stained glass windows.
Option 2: Fortified
The city of Fribourg is known as one of the oldest medieval towns in Switzerland. This design is inspired by the fortifications, towers, and city gates that continue to protect its rich history.
Option 3: Swiss Style
The founder of Fribourg, Berthold IV, had a coat of arms that depicted a roaring eagle. This design combines Fribourg's origins with the country's minimalist International Typographic Style.
